Gentleness

Let your gentleness be evident to all...

Phil 4:5

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls..."

Matthew 11:28-29

What would it be like, if we took seriously the encouragement to let our gentleness be evident to all? To make our communities places of gentleness?

What does it mean to understand that God is gentle?

It is not the first characteristic that we think of in relation to God. But Jesus describes himself as gentle. There is such safety in the invitation of a gentle God. Consolation is to be found in the presence of our gentle God.

Some people choose to wear white poppies for remembrance day. A symbol of seeking peace through peaceful means. Wanting a more gentle society.
