The Xone DX is a new audio controller for DJs, the result of close design collaboration between Allen & Heath and Serato. The Xone DX with Serato Itch software offers 4 Virtual Decks and on board Serato FX. Allen & Heath are the fourth major manufacturing partner to co-engineer on the Serato ITCH platform, with controllers from Numark, Denon and Vestax already in the shops.
One of the first controllers to hit the market was the Vestax VCI-100 but this unit required an external soundcard and was mostly used by Traxtor users. The VCI-300 was later released with in built soundcard and Serato software but you still require an external module to work the FX. The Allen & Heath unit seems to have it all, although worth noting that scratch DJs may still prefer the Vestax units due to platters.
We have had a unit on pre-order since December and I can not begin to tell you how excited we are about getting it.
