Matthew Comer is a freelance photographer born in Manchester 1981. He grew up in Whitefield with his older brother, Christian and Sister, Sharon. His mother Cherry, a fashion designer, and his father Terry, also a photographer, played a huge part in Matthew’s creativity.
He started taking photographs at rock shows in the early 2000′s as a hobby until his father saw he had an eye for it and bought him a new camera. Taking photographs at shows became an obsession and he started getting very well known under the guise of “Mayhem”. Having the privilege of photographing the likes of N*e*r*d and The Streets.
In 2009, after visiting New York Many times, Matthew & his partner Annabelle ventured on their dream trip. This produced a huge body of work entitled “On The Road” which will consist of over 20 exhibitions and a book. Which also means there will be more visits to the states.
His exhibition ‘Rooftops’ opens on the 26th February at Urban Outfitters on Market Street, Manchester. Check it out, you may just like it.
